Manifesto
The New York tech scene knows how to solve real business problems. Whether searching and building for solutions in advertising, publishing, art, fashion, finance, food, or even education, techies in New York care about having an impact.
Many startups are disrupting everything from small businesses to deeply entrenched industries. They are even working to create a more transparent open government, and naturally, their ambitions are global. We believe that it’s also important to remember to do service locally – and through that be inspired to solve not only technology and business problems, but problems faced by our communities.
Once a month, we’ll bring a group of volunTechers to work on projects in New York, ranging from community gardening and cleanup to youth tutoring and mentorship. We aim to make these events not just fulfilling but also educational. Through volunTECH, we hope to not only help our community, but also inspire new business ideas and solutions.
